About Me

My photo
I'm a 45 year old mother of 3 boys. I live in a beautiful old house that needs a lot of TLC with my youngest son and 2 dogs. I am working hard at keeping myself healthy and fit by working out and doing a spot of running. I'm a creative person and am passionate about keeping traditional skills alive. I cook, knit, bake, garden, preserve, read, write and am now learning to spin and quilt. Oh and I sometimes swear.....

Oops I did it again!

Yeah signed up again.  Think this is my 4th year now.  All I have to do now is write 50,000 words starting 1st Nov and and stop on 30th Nov.  Easy peasy?  Well, not based on past experiences.

Several people have asked me if I'm going to write that novel now.  Well I'm going to give it a good shot.  I spent a whole afternoon updating my CV and looking for a job.  Any job.  There aren't many of them about.  But I have applied for 2 temporary jobs, working weekends.  Can't say I'm thrilled but at least it keeps the week clear for teaching supply work (she says hopefully!) I'm guessing I won't even get to the interview stage cos I'm over qualified but sometimes you gotta kiss a lot of frogs.......

Many thanks for all the support yesterday.  Your texts and messages are getting me through this shitty period.  And although yesterday was a very black day, today I'm feeling more positive.  There was a fatal accident on the A9 near here.  The traffic was diverted round our road.  It took an hour to travel into Crieff instead of 12 mins.  But everyone I love came home safely and I'm very aware that there are families who don't have that luxury any more.

Focus on the positives x

Yeh ... go for it Allybea.

Just remember to do what you told me to do last year ... 'keep writing and don't edit!'

I've decided to reread mine from last year as my challenge for November!!

I'm thinking yes, Ali. My attempt of last year has become a labour of love and is developing nicely.

A brand new, alternative genre novel might be on the cards.xxx
