About Me

I'm a 45 year old mother of 3 boys. I live in a beautiful old house that needs a lot of TLC with my youngest son and 2 dogs. I am working hard at keeping myself healthy and fit by working out and doing a spot of running. I'm a creative person and am passionate about keeping traditional skills alive. I cook, knit, bake, garden, preserve, read, write and am now learning to spin and quilt. Oh and I sometimes swear.....

Mmmm, donuts

If you're a Simpsons fan you'll get it!

No3 son took part in his first race for the Junior Strathearn Harriers today. A one and a half mile loop at Stirling Uni in what can only be described as the perfect day for it.  No mud, no rain, no wind.  18 out of the 20 youngsters turned up (the missing 2 were on holiday) and ran their little socks off.  They were amazing.  Our junior section has only been in existence since the start of the new school term. The coaches and helpers are doing a great job with them.

Despite going in the wrong direction at one point and now feeling absolutely knackered, he enjoyed it.  As this was his first race I said he could choose a special treat.  He asked for donuts and Coke! So far he's had 2 of them and a pint of Coke.  Lol! I wouldn't normally allow such indulgence but it is a special occasion.

This was our first public outing as a separated couple. I don't know how people are expecting us to behave when we are together but I was aware that we were being watched (yep I saw you!!)  Maybe people don't believe that we genuinely still like each other and can behave ourselves in public.  Running is a major part of our lives so you'll still see us at races and events together.  And when No3 son is running nothing else matters except cheering him and his team mates.

Not being a Simpson's fan I didn't get the joke but well done to son no 3 on his first (of many) races for your club.
