About Me

My photo
I'm a 45 year old mother of 3 boys. I live in a beautiful old house that needs a lot of TLC with my youngest son and 2 dogs. I am working hard at keeping myself healthy and fit by working out and doing a spot of running. I'm a creative person and am passionate about keeping traditional skills alive. I cook, knit, bake, garden, preserve, read, write and am now learning to spin and quilt. Oh and I sometimes swear.....

Press pause

When your life isn't quite going in the direction you think it should, it may be wise to press the pause button for a wee while. Ideally I would like to press the fast forward button so I can be done with all the hard stuff but I guess a nature enforced pause is as good as I'm gonna get.

I've been snowed in for 10 days.  I got my car out briefly on 2 occasions but with the road conditions round here it really wasn't a pleasant experience.  Thankfully I'm a well prepared gal so we're not in any danger of starving or running out of loo rolls!

But this snow has made me really think about what I have to do in order to move on with my life. So I have been writing big long lists and drawing mind maps of what I would like to do and what I have to do.  Fantasy v reality I suppose.  I'm sure I've bored everyone to tears with my 'What am I going to do?' questions and I thank you for your patient responses reminding me that I'm the one who has to work it out for myself.

But I think I've got it figured out now.  2011 is going to be my year.  Big changes are coming (details to follow) and I'm not scared of them any more.  I'm ready to press the play button now.
